Meet the Author
Jean Lagacé
I am French Canadian. I have been a trial lawyer in Montreal for forty years. At college NOTRE-DAME in the middle of the sixties, where I collected a Bachelor’s degree, I was the director of its monthly paper: “Le Collegien”. When going to law school, I worked for the Peladeau Newspapers Group, interviewing local artists, politicians, and celebrities. Later, I created puzzle words (MOTS MYSTERES) for the Group, fifteen a week at $5.00 each. In those days, 75$ a week was good money. It lasted eighteen months until they bought them cheaper from a European reseller. Soon, I became a lawyer. I opened my own firm: PILON & LAGACE. It still exists. I started writing in the English language during the winter of 2012 after participating in a writing workshop in Pt-Brittany, St. Pete, where we own a condo, my wife and I.
In the last 5 years, I wrote THE MANUSCRIPT, a 151,000-word novel. It is creative fiction and a great story (…so I think anyway.) I also wrote and self-published in French FAITH and Le billet de loterie (the lottery ticket).

The Manuscript
Magical Realism
Dr Zielgard has written FAITH. It is a baseball story involving Manuel, his magic bat and the world’s series of 2008. Rosa Maman Tour de l’Isle is a sorceress that wishes the doctor dead because she blames him for being responsible for her daughter’s death. Since the doctor died the day she announced and she claimed after the fact full responsibility for the dead, D.A. Ollie Devott accused the witch of murder one. She will be found guilty and executed ten years later.
Real estate agent Phil Leclerc finds the Faith manuscript into the Zielgard’s house, send it to lawyer Morin that shows the piece to his friend Peter Artritis who works at Oracle publishing. Artritis will steal the material and publish it years later under his own name. Faith will prove a resounding success. Hollywood will make a movie out of it. Artritis will be invited to the David Letterman late show.
Meanwhile, Irma Sanchez will read FAITH and recognized herself, her mother and mother’s boyfriend in the book. Enough for her to conclude Artritis can’t have authored the tale. She gets herself invited in the show and will confront Artritis in front of an audience of million.

Book Reviews
Great Book!
I recently received a recommendation of the book The Manuscript from your publisher, and I must say, it sounds like such a powerful and engaging story. I’ve also heard that you are not only a talented writer but also a very professional author, which makes me even more excited to read your work.
I’m really looking forward to getting a physical copy hopefully, there’s also a hardcover edition, as I’d love to display it proudly on my bookshelf. I’d also be glad to recommend your book to some of my friends who manage physical bookstores.
Hoping to connect with you soon!
Recommended and Already Intrigued
This book was recently recommended to me, and even though it hasn’t been released yet, I’m already really excited to read it. From what I’ve heard about the story and the themes, it sounds like the kind of book that stays with you long after the last page.
I truly hope it will be available in hardbound format. There’s something timeless and special about a hardcover book, it feels more personal and permanent, like a story worth treasuring. A well-made hardback isn’t just for reading; it’s something you can display, return to, and even pass on.
I also hope it comes out as an audiobook. Audiobooks make stories accessible to a much wider audience, especially for those who are visually impaired or have difficulty reading printed text. Everyone deserves the chance to experience a powerful story, and an audiobook version would help ensure that this amazing book can reach even more people.
Fingers crossed for the release, I can’t wait to dive in!
Book release!
