Meet Jean Lagacé: French-Canadian Author of The Manuscript

Introducing the Author: Jean Lagacé

Jean Lagacé is a French-Canadian writer and former trial lawyer from Montreal with more than forty years of experience in law. His love for words began in the 1960s as director of his college newspaper Le Collégien, and later as a contributor to the Peladeau Newspapers Group, where he interviewed artists, politicians, and public figures.

Throughout his career, Jean never stopped writing. From creating puzzle words (Mots Mystères) to publishing works in French such as Faith and Le billet de loterie, his passion for storytelling only grew stronger. In 2012, inspired by a writing workshop in St. Pete, Florida, Jean began writing in English—leading to his most ambitious novel to date, The Manuscript.

Jean Lagacé’s Journey as a Writer

From Montreal courtrooms to literary workshops in Florida, Jean Lagacé brings a lifetime of experience, wit, and storytelling passion into his work. His transition from lawyer to author reflects his belief that words hold the power to inspire, challenge, and endure.

With The Manuscript, Jean offers readers not just a novel, but an experience, one that asks what it truly means to create, to own a story, and to fight for justice in unexpected ways.
